The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) kindly requests your help. GLAAD is presently in a pro-bono consulting engagement with Bain & Company to determine how GLAAD can serve the LGBT community more effectively.

Here I go with another last minute notice about my photography being exhibited. I have a piece about the AIDS crisis called “Holocaust Redux” in a show at the MH Art & Framing Gallery at 9 W. 20th Street just west of 5th Avenue. Tomorrow night is the Opening Reception for “Politics” – an exhibition of works by ArtGroup for Gay and Lesbian Artists. I’d love for you to attend the reception but I will only be there for the first hour from 6 to 7 PM, since I’m in Laughlin Artz’s Forum in Action Seminar for Senior Graduates at Landmark Education. If you’re not familiar with the Forum please get in touch with me, so I can let you know about it. The work I’m doing at Landmark is making an extraordinary difference in my life and I’d love to share it with you.
The “Politics” show is up until April 26th but please be sure to check the days and times of operation of the gallery. There are also two other current opportunities to see my photography. I have a piece up at the LGBT Community Center at 208 W. 13th Street through Friday, March 14th. It’s a small piece called “Cloudscraper” and you’ll find it hanging on the wall facing you as you reach the top of the stairs on the third floor. Lastly I was in the February Visual AIDS Web Gallery. Although the March Show is now featured, you can still see my work in last month’s show by going to http://www.thebody.com/visualaids/web_gallery/index.html.

Also, if someone (people) can volunteer their printing services to help print out 500+ copies of our 2008 double-sided recruiting pamphlet that would be great! We will need to have these printed out for the March 12 Governing Body for distribution purposes.

His most recent solo show, Glamour Damage, had its world premiere at London's Soho Theatre and was hailed by the Evening Standard as “A glittering walk on the wild side.†He regularly Emcees the performance series "Weimar New York", performs with his band The Freudian Slippers, and as a featured vocalist on the London Readers Wifes' Nostalgia, had a top 20 single on the UK alternative chart. Recently, he appeared as Valerie Solanas with Matmos at the Whitney Biennial. Bond toured internationally with avant-garde noise/cabaret band Pantychrist. Film credits include a starring role in John Cameron Mitchell's feature Shortbus as well as Imaginary Heroes. In 2006 Bond completed his MA Scenography at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London. Justin credits his career as a queer performer to Kate Bornstein who cast him as Herculine Barbin in her ground-breaking play Hidden: A Gender in 1991.

Justin Bond is the recipient of the 2007 Ethyl Eichelberger Award, a commissioning award created by Performance Space 122 and made possible with the generous support of the Gesso Foundation. The Ethyl Eichelberger Award (in honor of seminal performer, landmark and legend Ethyl Eichelberger) is given to an artist or group that exemplifies Ethyl's larger-than-life style and generosity of spirit; who embodies Ethyl's multi-talented artistic virtuosity, bridging worlds and vitalizing those around them. The 2008 Ethyl Eichelberger Award will be announced following Lustre's performance on Thursday, March 6 with a reception to follow. Past winners are Taylor Mac (2005) and Julie Atlas Muz (2006).

Justin credits his career as a queer performer to Kate Bornstein who cast him as Herculine Barbin in her ground-breaking play Hidden: A Gender in 1991.

Justin Bond is the recipient of the 2007 Ethyl Eichelberger Award, a commissioning award created by Performance Space 122 and made possible with the generous support of the Gesso Foundation. The Ethyl Eichelberger Award (in honor of seminal performer, landmark and legend Ethyl Eichelberger) is given to an artist or group that exemplifies Ethyl's larger-than-life style and generosity of spirit; who embodies Ethyl's multi-talented artistic virtuosity, bridging worlds and vitalizing those around them. The 2008 Ethyl Eichelberger Award will be announced following Lustre's performance on Thursday, March 6 with a reception to follow. Past winners are Taylor Mac (2005) and Julie Atlas Muz (2006).
